We are a GOOD School in each and every aspect - Ofsted 2016

Safeguarding Statement

Cliffe VC Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

All North Yorkshire schools, including Cliffe VC Primary School, follow the North Yorkshire Safeguarding Children Board procedures. The school will, in most circumstances, endeavour to discuss all concerns with parents about their child/ren. However, there may be exceptional circumstances when the school will discuss concerns with Social Care and/or the Police without parental knowledge (in accordance with Child Protection procedures).

The school will, of course, always aim to maintain a positive relationship with all parents. The school’s Child Protection policy is available in the policies section of the web site.

Mrs Suzanne Hay is the Designated Lead for child protection. Mrs Cassandra Capewell is the Deputy Designated Lead.

Our safeguarding governor is Mrs Carole Middleton.

The Headteacher has Keeping Children Safe on Line Training. She also has Level 3 Child Protection and Safer Recruitment training.

We actively support the Government's Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism. Staff and Governors have taken the appropriate training to fulfill their roles in this.
